Puttenham is a small township in Surrey, England. The township is located at the southern part of the Hog’s Back.
Puttenham is located next to the A31 motorway which runs between Farnham and Guildford. Villages nearby include Compton, Shackleford and Wanborough.
Puttenham is situated in between of the greensand to the southern area and the chalk to the northern area.
The Baptist church of St John is located at the end of Puttenham. The church was built in different stages. The oldest part that can be found is the late saxon and in 1160, Norman pillars was added to the building. The Lady Chapel was built in the 13th century and the tower was built in the 15th century. However, the church was destroyed by fire in the 18th century and the church was finally rebuilt in the 20th century.
Furthermore, there is a large house known as Puttenham Priory and the house is located at the east of Puttenham. Moreover, Puttenham also has a public house called as “The Good Intent”.
The house was famous with walkers since Puttenham is situated nearby to the North Downs Way.
